Bynum   "Loom Shuttle"

FL000005 (4).jpg

This sculpture is designed as a tool “Left Behind” when a local textile mill was abandoned after globalization.  The sculpture was forged using salvaged wrought iron from the burned out ruins of the mill in Bynum, NC.

“Left Behind” is an ongoing body of work that includes tools from Iceland’s whaling villages, Sweden’s glass blowing region, Cranberry Iron mine, and Fearrington Town which was flooded to make Jordan Lake in NC.
